Amazon to pay all staff at least $15 per hour

Good shit, this is also a step in the right direction from one of the world's biggest companies:

Amazon’s public policy team will also begin advocating for an increase in the federal minimum wage.

“We will be working to gain Congressional support for an increase in the federal minimum wage. The current rate of $7.25 was set nearly a decade ago,” said Jay Carney, Senior Vice President of Amazon Global Corporate Affairs. “We intend to advocate for a minimum wage increase that will have a profound impact on the lives of tens of millions of people and families across this country.”

Now I might consider part time work for them on weekends in their warehouses which I’ve suddenly been getting tons of emails for out of nowhere. But I always ignored them because they said $11.25.

That's likely before the shift differential pay so most full-time employees will get closer to $16/hr depending on your shift schedule and how long you've been with the company.

That's pretty cool.

Bezos is still shit and more money doesn't make up for the lack of bathroom breaks or lack of punch terminals. Better, but not at a place where we can say the situation is good.

Considering Bezos couldn't burn his money fast enough, this is a braindead easy decision to make. Good for all Amazon employees.
